Firefighters extinguish fully engulfed RV Wednesday morning
An RV is considered a total loss after it became fully engulfed in flames early Wednesday morning.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s office, at around 1:00 a.m. Greenwood and Tower fire departments responded to the intersection of County Road 77 and Lake Vermillion Reservation Road in rural Greenwood Township, just shortly west of Tower, Minnesota to the report of a Recreational Vehicle (RV) on fire.
Officials say after speaking with the driver and owner of the RV, the driver says as he was turning onto Lake Vermillion Reservation Road, he noticed the engine overheated and shut down. At that time, he also noticed flames coming from the engine bay.
The Driver and Owner of the RV is from the Cook, Minnesota area and was the only person in the RV at the time.
Officials were able to put the fire out with minimal damage to nearby property. The RV is considered a total loss.
