Structure Fire in Brevator Township on 4th of July
On July 4, 2023 at 10:35 PM, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments responded to a report of a structure fire in the 3600 block of Highway 33 in Brevator Township. It was reported by a passerby that a shed and camper were on fire.
Upon arrival, responders found a fully engulfed garage with a camper nearby on fire. The fire departments were able to quickly extinguish the flames. The nearby house had heat damage to the siding but there was no fire extension to the residence.
The owners were contacted, who were not home, and responded to the scene. There was no loss of life and there were no injuries as no one was home at the time of the fire. The garage and likely the camper are a complete loss. The Cloquet Area Fire District will be completing the fire investigation. Nothing at the scene appeared suspicious in nature.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office initially at the scene.
