Early morning structure fire reported in Superior
Members of the Superior Fire Department were dispatched to the report of a structure fire on E. 6th Street after 2am this morning. Fire crews arrived on scene to a passenger vehicle fire, but had spread to the exterior siding and into the attic of a two story residential structure.
The occupants reported that everyone was safely outside of the structure. The first arriving fire unit attacked the exterior fire while additional fire units advanced hose lines to the interior, to locate and extinguish the attic fire.
The home did sustain smoke and water damage throughout. Fire crews remained on scene around 5:30am this morning. The cause of the structure fire reported in Superior is under investigation and the fire loss is estimated to be approximately $50,000.
All three on-duty engine companies worked the fire. Additional off-duty fire crews serviced emergency calls during the fire.
There were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters. Assisting agencies were Mayo Ambulance, Superior Police and Superior Water, Light, and Power.
