- Sunday, May 12 – Theatre Novi Most launches The Ukrainian Words Project, showing at Zeitgeist. The Ukrainian Words Project features an hour-long staged reading of excerpts from newly commissioned plays written by Ukrainian playwrights since the war began in February 2022. The reading includes music by Lev & Olga Frayman and Yev Rosso and is followed by optional Story Circles with members of the audience. This event is free to attend, but registration is required. - Wednesday, May 15 – Antique Appraisal at the Depot. This is a free event at the St. Louis County Depot, 506 West Michigan Street in Duluth. The St. Louis County Historical Society has arranged for Denny Mager of Northern Specialty, an expert in antique appraisal to be available from noon – 3PM in the rotunda.The public may bring up to two items per person for an informal oral identification and evaluation. - Wednesday, May 15 – There will be a public meeting hosted jointly by the Minnesota and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation to provide an update on the Blatnik Bridge project at 5 p.m. at the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Avenue in Superior. - Thursday, May 16 – Collaborating Strength in our Community: “Bringing together professionals who work alongside victims of abuse” at UW-Superior Great Room from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Must be pre-registered. Light breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $75 including breakfast and supplies. Learn about diversity, equity and inclusion in the work place. Watch an educational short film and participatee in a discussion highlightingthe hidden dynamics of abuse. - Friday, May 17 – HDC Cloquet Outreach Center Fundraiser at 24 10th Street in Cloquet from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. It’s an evening of fun and philanthropy at the HDC Cloquet Outreach Center. There will be a lasagna dinner, including fresh salad, warm bread and dessert. There will be a silent auction and raffle draws. Adults: $10 per plate children: $5.
- Saturday, May 18 – Spaghetti Dinner in Hill City from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Hill City Fire Hall in Hill City. $10 per plate. Children under 5 eat free. Proceeds benefit the Hill City 4th of July Celebration.
- Saturday, May 18 – JDRF Community One Walk at UMD Malosky Stadium, 1336 University Drive, at 10:00 a.m. Participants will walk 5k to raise money for critical type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, and be at the center of the global effort to improve the lives of millions living with T1D. - Saturday, May 18 – Bigfork Family Fun Fest hosted by the Bigfork PTA from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Bigfork School. Come enjoy the fun of this family event! There will be a dunk tank, face painting, Bingo, Bounce house, bake sale and food trucks. Join in on the Silent Auction for Duluth Aquarium tickts, Rigid Shop Vac, 2 hours skid steer work, Target Gift Card, Benders Gift Card, Bloomers Gift Card, Sausage griller, YMCA membership and more. There will also be carnival games.
- Saturday, May 18 – UW-Superior to hold commencement at 2 p.m. at Siinto S. Wessman Arena, 2701 Catlin Ave. in Superior. The UW-Superior will award 437 Bachelor’s Degrees and 198 Master’s Degrees. A live video feed will be available the day of the ceremony on UW-Superior’s YouTube page.

- Sunday, May 19 – Fairview Range Medical Center is holding a special memorial service dedicated to families who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of pregnancy or newborn loss. Regardless of whether the loss occurred recently or years ago, all are welcome in this time of remembrance and support. The event will be held at Hull Rust Room (West Entrance), Fairview Range Medical Center, 750 East 34th Street in Hibbing at 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 21 – Thursday, May 23 – Mesabi Musical Theatre is preparing encore performances of its successful winter musical, “Always…Patsy Cline,” to help promote their auditions for their summer production of “Ruthless! The Musical.” Auditions for “Ruthless!” will be held at Lincoln Elementary School, 1114 E. 23rd St. in Hibbing on May 21-23 at 6 p.m. Anyone can audition. - Wednesday, May 22 – Community Connect Event at the Hibbing Memorial Arena, 400 E 23rd Street in Hibbing from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Community members facing homelessness or financial challenges are invited to attend this free event. Organized in collaboration with local partners and inspired by the national Project Homeless Connect. Arrowhead Transit is offering free rides to and from the Community Connect event. - Tuesday, June 11 – St. Luke’s will hold a cancer lecture called ‘The Role of Genetics in Cancer Development and Treatment’ at the Depot from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. While genetics can play a role in developing cancer, thanks to breakthroughs in research, we can now also use genetics to predict cancer’s progression and create tailored treatments for patients. Genetics can also be used for people with a cancer diagnosis or family history of cancer to learn about their risks of developing cancer and personalize their screening plans. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Panel begins at 6 p.m. The event is in the first-floor theater of the Depot, 506 W. Michigan St. Enter through the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center entrance on the west side. A parking lot is available off W.
