Over the weekend College of St. Scholastica’s (CSS) Samuel Eben Ebai Jr. and University of Wisconsin-Superior’s (UWS) Gage Stankiewicz both qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field championship.

CSS junior Eben Ebai will race in the 60 meter dash. This makes him the first sprinter in Saints program history to qualify for the NCAA meet, and the first overall male since 2016. He qualified in the event on Saturday by setting a meet and program record time of 6.83.

An Esko native, Stankiewicz will compete in shot put. The freshman earned Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Rookie of the Year honors and is ranked 12th in DIII after setting a personal record Saturday throwing 16.07 meters.

The NCAA meet is Friday and Saturday in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
