Up North: Women’s Night at Lester-Amity Chalet

Skihut, Continental Bikes & Ski, COGGS (Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores) and DXC (Duluth Cross-Country Ski Club) all partner up every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. for social fat bike riding, skate skiing and classic skiing at Lester-Amity Chalet for their Women’s Night event.
“Try it and you’ll love it. It’s worth it when to get out here. You just need somebody to motivate you,” said skiers Chandra and Molly Shoberg.
For these women, they work together using winter sports in a safe, fun, supportive environment.
Once a month even holding educational clinics teaching “what to wear” and “how to train”. Along with a social hour following some of the events.
“You look forward to winter when you can have something fun to do. Winter seems to short instead of too long,” claimed skiers Erica Busta and Abbey Brazerol.
Using the platform of sport to create opportunities to connect with other women of all body types, fitness levels, abilities, and ages.
“We hope to see all skill levels coming out. So yes, very professional looking over here. Just giving other an opportunity to try this sport,” added Brazerol.
Even if you don’t have a fat bike, Continental can reserve bikes on a first come, first served basis by calling them at 218-728-4466.
