Hermantown wins Section 7A Championship game

The Hermantown Hawks were taking on the Duluth Denfeld Hunters in the Section 7A finals at Amsoil Arena Wednesday night.

After an early powerplay goal the Hawks took over the rest of the game.

Scoring 6 goals in the first period, led by Dallas Vieau who recorded a hattrick.

Dane Callaway would then backstop the team to an 11-0 shutout victory.

As Hermantown secures their seventh section final, in the last eight seasons.

"It’s awesome, I have been watching the Hawks since I was a kid so being able to finally do it in Amsoil is awesome. I don’t know what to say we are going to the Xcel! It just shows how good we can be if we play together and come out hot, so hopefully we can carry that into the Xcel," said Junior forward Zam Plante.

The Puck will drop on the State Tournament Wednesday. March 9th at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
