Coming into 2023 still dealing with COVID cases

COVID remains a constant in the world as we enter into 2023.
According to the World Health Organization, there were 400,000 new cases in the United States the week after Christmas.
Some school districts out east, in New Jersey and Philadelphia, are requiring masks for kids as they return to the classrooms.
Many of us know someone who had to change their plans during the holidays due to someone testing positive.
According to the state of Minnesota, there are 36 people in the northeast section of the state who were in the hospital with COVID last week. 3 of them were in ICU. And those are consistent with the 7-day average.
St. Luke’s told WDIO that they have patients with COVID and with the flu right now. COVID cases remain stable in Minnesota, but flu and RSV are on the way down.
National tracking sites show that both St. Louis County and Douglas County are considered to have low transmission levels. But remember, many people who test positive are taking home tests, and those are not necessarily reported to the state.
A reminder that the COVID testing site at the DECC remains open Tuesday-Saturday. You can also get treatment there. And they have home tests as well.
Doctors advise wearing a mask if you have any type of symptoms, to prevent spreading any viruses.
