Home from Olympics, Soderberg ready to get back between Bulldog pipes
Earlier this week Emma Soderberg made her return home to Minnesota from the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic games.
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) senior goaltender is fresh off a run with Team Sweden where she unexpectedly took over the role of starter. In her breakout performance the senior tallied an Olympic high 167 total saves for a .912 save percentage, playing a big part in helping Sweden to the quarterfinals.
"Going into it I didn’t think I was going to be playing much and then I ended up playing all the games, which was a big experience," Soderberg said. "[It was] a different stage for me. A little bit more pressure but I think I grew into the tournament as it went on."
Soderberg will be available for the Bulldogs regular season finale series this weekend against St. Cloud State University.
