This Saturday, February 19th, you will have a chance to support and shop locally black-owned businesses at the second annual Northland Black Business showcase is back at the Washington Center gym.

The showcase will have a lot of different vendors showing everything they have to offer from, locally grown food to clothing, art, and even handmade soap. Organizers are expecting about 18 businesses to participate this year.

This showcase is “important to have so the black business can be seen,” says Kia Ronning, one of the organizers of the showcase.

Kia Ronning is a business owner herself. She owns Keek’s Kreations, where she makes custom items like shirts, mugs, etc.

“I feel like for forever we just have not been seen. We have been pushed down to the side, and you know what…now is our time to shine. And I am so excited that I can give a little part of that and you know to be able to create that spotlight for other businesses to just show who the heck they are,” said Ronning.

The showcase will be this Saturday, February 19th from 1:30 pm to 4 pm inside the Washington Center gym located at 310 N. First Ave. W., Duluth.
