Another cold night is ahead, with overnight lows from -10 to -20 and a west wind picking up speed. The worst of the wind chill will be Monday morning as areas north of the Iron Range stretching into the Arrowhead could have an hour or two of wind chill values as low as 40-45 degrees below zero. This is assuming some cloud cover- areas will clear skies will be even colder.
Monday will be the coldest day this week as the entire area stays at or below zero throughout the day. After a slight improvement in the afternoon, more wind chill headlines are likely Monday night.
There are a couple of small chances of light snow this week on Tuesday night, Thursday morning, and Friday. Minimal, if any, accumulation is expected with dry air lingering over the region. The South Shore portion of the U.P. will likely have more lake-effect snow over the next two days with a persistent westerly wind.
After a bitter cold start to the week, we will see temperatures improve going into the weekend.
