Women in the Workforce event gave young ladies a chance to learn about opportunities

The first of four Women in the Workforce events at Minnesota North College campuses was a resounding success.

Students from area high schools spent time at the Hibbing campus on Tuesday.

There, they heard women share about their careers. And then they were able to tour the campus and meet with local employers.

This is a branch out of the Women in the Workforce event in at the Hibbing High School in 2021, which was put on by Women of Steel and then Hibbing Community College.

EMPOWER is a grant program designed to help women on their journeys in higher education through Minnesota North. It supports them in many different ways.

EMPOWER is bringing Women in the Workforce events to Vermilion, Itasca, and Mesabi Eveleth through February.
