Virginia man faces charges after double stabbing

Ray Charles Brantley faces three charges related to a double stabbing from Monday evening.

Police said they responded to the call in the 300 block of 8th Street South.

The criminal complaint said Brantley and the victims live in the same apartment building.

Brantley, who is 63, was reportedly making noise in his apartment, so the victims called law enforcement.

The officers left. Then Brantley allegedly came down to the victims’ apartment, and started pounding on the door until it opened.

Investigators said that’s when a fight began, and Brantley stabbed both a man and a woman.

Both went to the hospital in Virginia for their injuries.

According to the complaint, Brantley appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
