Temperatures have been knocked down near average today, but another stretch of unseasonable warmth begins tomorrow and takes us into next week. Our Friday begins with temps ranging from minus single digits in northern communities to teens above zero along the South Shore. Highs reach mid-20s with sunny skies. A breezy southwest wind kicks in tonight, keeping lows in teens and 20s despite little cloud cover.

The true warmth returns for our Saturday which will be reminiscent of the gorgeous weather we had on Wednesday. Highs reach upper 30s to low 40s with sunshine and breezy southwest winds. Lows stay in the 20s Saturday night with mostly cloudy skies, then we return to mid and upper 30s on Sunday under a mix of clouds and sun.

The weather continues to be dry through the weekend. A few flurries are possible across the Arrowhead Sunday night. The next widespread chance for precipitation would arrive from the south Tuesday evening as a mix of rain and snow and linger Wednesday. Colder air will finally return to the region behind this system on Thursday. By then, a breezy north northwest wind directs lake effect snow chances along Lake Superior’s South Shore.
