Clear skies will once again be with us overnight. This along with some light winds has led to the National Weather Service to issue a wind chill advisory for northern St. Louis, Lake, and Cook Counties from 9pm this evening to 9am Friday morning. Winds will turn over to the southwest Friday but be on the blustery side. Temperatures will likely warm up through the weekend with a chance of light snow returning Sunday night through Tuesday morning. It doesn’t look like we will see much snow with this first wave but there might be enough to make the Monday morning and Tuesday morning commute slick.
We are also watching something interesting for the end of next week. Models are starting to come into an agreement with a heavier snow event coming through late Wednesday through Friday. As of now, it looks to be a heavier swath of snow from the Twin Ports south toward the Twin Cities. However, if this system shifts a little north in the next week, we could be looking at much more across the Northland. Temperatures will be much colder by the end of next week too.
