UMD men’s and women’s basketball team get wins over Bemidji State

It was senior night for the University of Minnesota Duluth men’s basketball teams as they hosted the Beavers of Bemidji State.
The Bulldogs entered Saturday’s game riding a three-game winning streak and looked to finish out the regular senior with a win. UMD opened up a run on the Beavers leading 45-11 at the end of the first half and never looked back, going on to win 87-53.
Drew Blair led the Bulldogs with 17 points, followed by Jack Middleton with 13 and Joshua Strong with 12 points.
UMD will be back in action on February 22nd at home playing in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament hosting Minnesota State in the first round. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Click here to see the full men’s bracket.
The women Bulldogs were also in action hosting against Bemidji State on senior night, looking to close out their season with a win, and they accomplished the goal, topping the Beavers 84-62.
Brook Olson led the team in scoring shooting almost half of the Bulldog’s points with 40, Taya Hakamaki followed behind with 12, and Ella Gilbertson tacked on 11 points. The Bulldogs shot 80% for the free throw line
The Bulldogs will step back on the court on Saturday, February 25th in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament. Click here to see the full women’s bracket.
