CNN boss resigns after consensual relationship with top executive

Another personnel bombshell at CNN. The network’s president, Jeff Zucker is out. He resigns after acknowledging a consensual relationship with another network executive.

Zucker leaves after nine years over a relationship that came to light during a probe into the acts of now-fired anchor Chris Cuomo. Zucker says he was asked about his ties to longtime aide Allison Gollust as part of that investigation. In a memo announcing his departure, Zucker says he was required to disclose the relationship when it began, but didn’t.

For now, three senior executives at CNN will run the network on an interim basis.
