Dish Network goes dark. The satellite provider is in the midst of a major outage, knocking out the company’s websites, apps, and customer support since Thursday. Workers have reportedly been told to stand by for information from management.
Motorola has come up with a Bluetooth device that enables two-way emergency texting when there’s no cellular signal. The Motorola Defy Satellite link can be used on almost any iPhone or Android device. It’s a $99 keychain accessory that’s also capable of location sharing and SOS assistance.
Finally, the Pentagon says artificial intelligence has controlled a specially modified F-16 test aircraft, during 17 hours of flight. The flights included simulated dogfights, as well as takeoffs and landings.
It was all research into the possibilities of autonomous flight.
