BCA identifies man who died after officer-involved shooting in Duluth

In an update on Wednesday, the Minnesota BCA identified the man who died after an officer-involved shooting in Duluth.
Zachary Shogren, 34, of Duluth, died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The BCA said that three police officers used force during the incident.
Two of them work undercover, and are not being identified, per state statute. One fired a duty weapon, and one fired less lethal rounds.
The other is Jared Blomdahl, who deployed his taser.
According to the BCA, officers went to Shogren’s home on the 1500 block of East 3rd Street to arrest him for felony threats of violence.
They said they encountered Shogren in an alley behind his home, and they said he had a knife.
Body camera footage shows officers ordering Shogren to drop the knife, as he moved toward them.
Blomdahl deployed his taser, and the second officer fired less lethal rounds.
Then, Shogren is seen on video running towards the officers, which is when the third officer shot him.
Officers then performed life-saving care, until he was taken to the hospital.
The BCA said they recovered a knife at the scene.
