We get a break from snow today. Snow showers gradually edge into the Northland from the west tonight, Wednesday, and Wednesday night. In this time, 1-3” is possible generally along and west of a line from International Falls to Grand Rapids to Aitkin. Less than an inch is expected for the Arrowhead and the Twin Ports, with much of northwest Wisconsin staying out of reach of this round. Periodic lake effect is possible along the North Shore Wednesday into Thursday, but accumulation would remain light.

The next widespread round of accumulation is on track to arrive from the south Thursday afternoon and exit Friday morning. Travel impacts currently look to stay south of the Iron Range but travel from the Twin Ports to the Twin Cities is more likely to be affected. After that, another round of snow will be possible Saturday night and Sunday.
