Man faces three misdemeanors for allegedly running over three deer in Ely
A 20-year-old man faces three misdemeanors for allegedly running over three deer in Ely.
Casey Meadows had originally been cited for the March 21st incident.
Police referred the case to the St. Louis County Attorney’s office, and prosecutor Amber Pederson filed the charges on Monday.
The criminal complaint lists the charges as Use of Motor Vehicles to Chase Wild Animals Prohibited.
Meadows reportedly told authorities he did hit the deer on purpose. The complaint said he asked his friends in the vehicle if he should try and hit the animals, and his friends said yes.
They reportedly thought it was funny at the time, but feel bad about the situation now, according to the complaint.
