Last fall the Floodwood High School volleyball team finished an impressive run as Section 7A runners-up thanks, in a big part, to senior setter Kylie Hart.
She finished third in the state in assists with 905, then Wednesday morning signed her National Letter of Intent to play collegiately for Briar Cliff University.
“Here in Floodwood this doesn’t happen a lot. We’re a small school. The last person to sign to go play sports after high school somewhere was about two or three years ago. Neva Polo, she played volleyball as well, she had [the signing ceremony] during Covid so nobody really got to be here for her. It’s pretty cool that I get to experience this and have everybody here,” Hart said.
Polo committed to run Division II track & field at Hillsdale College in 2021.
A three year captain for the Polar Bears Hart broke the school record for career assists surpassing 2,000. She also surpassed 1,000 career sets.
Located in Sioux City, Iowa Briar Cliff competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
