Justin Liles: Rain and snow return this weekend
Our weather is going to switch back over from summer, to spring, and back to winter over the next few days. Many parts of the Northland have been enjoying warmer than average temperatures this week, which has led to significant snowmelt and rapidly rising waters. This has led to flooding all over the region. Now as we head into the weekend there is a good chance we seeing up to an inch or more of rain to help complicate flooding problems around the Northland. We are also looking at winds increasing, along with accumulating snow, and freezing rain possible Saturday night into Sunday.
By Sunday, we’re tracking a rather robust low setting up shop over southern Wisconsin. Enough cold air is likely going to filter in to make for snow conditions and potentially poor travel Sunday through Monday night. Lake effect snows for northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan may turn out some heavier snow all the way through Tuesday. This isn’t ideal and temperatures will play a huge role in determining precipitation type, how much, and where. In short, Sunday through Tuesday could get complicating following all the rain coming tonight and Saturday.
