In Otter News: Happy Birthday, Agate and Ore

The Great Lake Aquarium is home to North American River Otters, Agate and Ore. Over the weekend, they celebrated their 10th Birthdays. They’ve been with GLA for 9.5 years now.

Natalie Riemer an animal care specialist explains, “It’s one of our most popular events here at the aquarium.” She says that there event draws many people out, and a different crowd than the usual daily aquarium attendance.

“I actually personally made the otters a fish birthday cake,’ Riemer tells The Lift it’s made out of ice with a lot of different seafood. The 10 on top is made out of fish as well.
