The strong westerly wind we’ve had today will be mostly calm overnight. Lows will be in the teens along the Iron Range and north. Elsewhere, we only drop to the twenties.
Northern lights may be visible, but the ability to see them will be dependent on location. Cloud coverage will likely obstruct the view for most of the area. The South Shore east of the Bayfield Peninsula will have the best chance of seeing the aurora tonight with cloud coverage at 20-35 percent. The North Shore portion of Cook County will be the next best location.
A few light showers are possible this evening, with no accumulation expected. Tomorrow afternoon will be similar.
The sun will shine Tuesday and Wednesday, but then rain chances return late Wednesday night. Thursday will have widespread rain, increasing flood risk throughout the Northland. Rain chances will continue Friday through next Sunday.
