Wilderness top Kenai River in game one of NAHL division semifinals

Friday night the Minnesota Wilderness scored three unanswered goals to best the Kenai River Brown Bears 3-1 in game one of their best-of-five North American Hockey League (NAHL) Midwest Division semifinals. The series marks the beginning of the Robertson Cup playoffs.
Gunnar Thoreson scored for the Wilderness in the first period to tie the game 1-1. Reid Daavettila gave Minnesota their first lead in the second then Kevin Marx Noren added insurance in the third.
Netminder Isak Posch recorded 22 saves in the win for the Wilderness.
The Wilderness will also host game two at the Northwoods Credit Union Arena Saturday. Puck drop is set for 7:15 p.m.
