Design your own Cirrus plane

Cirrus Aircraft recently launched a tool that lets anyone design a Vision Jet or an SR Series plane.

It’s called the Configurator, and it can be accessed for free on their website.

“What’s really great is actually the accessibility portion for this because, you know, there’s family members that I have and there’s friends that I have that maybe aren’t interested in flying or maybe are interested in flying that would love to visualize this as well,” Brad Kappel, a member of the Cirrus design team, said.

To start, you choose from the Vision Jet, an SR22T, SR22, or SR20. Then, you choose an exterior design style and color, then an interior color and other features.

“It autopopulates your images and then sets it up so that way, if you want to download this, save this configuration, if you want to kind of make sure it’s yours, you are now given the opportunity to do so,” Kappel said. “And my favorite thing to do is when I save the configuration, I can actually save it to ‘My Hangar.'”

The Configurator also gives details about the plane’s safety features and where they’re located and lets you look around a 3D model inside and out in different light.
