Tonight will have clear skies and overnight lows close to fifty degrees. The west wind will shift to the east by 9 am Tuesday, resulting in cooler temperatures by the lake.
A cold front moving through midday will result in highs in the morning as temperatures fall during the day. Highs for the day will range from close to fifty degrees for areas close to the lake to the upper seventies west of St. Louis County.
An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Tuesday for northern Minnesota, in effect from 4 am to 4 pm. Wildfire smoke from Canada is expected to enter the region, with the Air Quality Index reaching the Orange category. Sensitive groups, such as children, the elderly, and people with asthma, are advised to limit time outdoors.
Rain chances return Wednesday night. Widespread rainfall is likely Thursday, lasting into Friday morning for some areas.
