Throwback Thursday: Ruby slippers stolen

Dorothy’s ruby slippers from the “Wizard of Oz” were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids in August 2005.
At the time, museum officials, security, and police were piecing together how the thief got in and whether there should have been more security in the first place.
The slippers were recovered in 2018. And on Wednesday, May 17, authorities announced a man was indicted for stealing the slippers nearly 20 years ago.
