Brandon Weatherz: Staying warm with isolated storms

A lot of what we saw yesterday will play out again each day through Saturday with heat away from Lake Superior, cooler conditions persisting near the shorelines, a mix of clouds and sun, and thunderstorm chances. The late afternoon and evening will feature isolated thunderstorms with locally heavy rain. Similar to yesterday, scattered thunderstorms may linger into the overnight hours before finally tapering off by early morning.
The hit-or-miss nature of the showers that do develop will mean rain for some, but not all. Without widespread accumulation in the forecast, there isn’t much relief from the ongoing dry conditions expected as a region. Inland communities will consistently be hot and sticky with highs in the 80s and dew points near 60 each day through Sunday. Meanwhile, the same limited lake influence that has kept lakeside communities from feeling the heat lately will persist.
