St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responds to crash on Midway Road

Around 6pm on June 5th, 2023, emergency responders were dispatched to a single vehicle crash in the 5200 block of the Midway Road in Canosia Township after a SUV was observed driving into the ditch.  Responders found the scene and determined the vehicle had been traveling southbound on Midway Road prior to leaving the roadway and hitting a culvert.

The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old male from Duluth, was ultimately transported by Mayo Ambulance to a Duluth hospital for evaluation, and it is believed any injuries were non-life threatening.  It is believed alcohol was a factor in this incident and the Minnesota State Patrol was completing the investigation.

Emergency personnel from the Canosia Township Volunteer Fire Department, the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and Mayo Ambulance all assisted with response to this incident.
