Moving On: Superior softball holds off Menomonee Falls in state quarterfinals
Thursday morning the second seeded, undefeated Superior softball team held off seventh seeded Menomonee Falls 6-5 in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Division 1 state quarterfinals at Goodman Diamond in Madison.
The Spartans’ Emma Raye smacked out a solo home run in the fourth to lead 4-1, while Gabbi Saari contributed two RBI, two hits and one run. Superior pitcher Haley Zembo pitched 12 strikeouts through all seven innings pitched.
Superior improves to 26-0 on the season. They advance to the state semifinals Friday at 7 p.m. against sixth seed Sun Prairie East. For the full schedule, Click Here.
The state championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
