Section Baseball: South Ridge claims 7A title, Hinckley-Finlayson claims 5A title

In Virginia on Thursday, the battle for the section 7A championship went down between #1 South Ridge as they needed two wins over # 2 Cherry.
Panthers Josiah Deloach hit a sac fly to centerfield sending home both Benjamin Pretasky and Kai Tuominen.
The Tigers went on to break the 3-3 tie game in the fourth inning, with a centerfield hit by Kaleb Rinerson allowing Noah Asuma to score.
In the top of the seventh, Panthers lead 8-6 until Wyatt Olson hit one deep into center field for a two-run score. The Panthers went on to win game 1, 12-6, then went on to win in game 2, breaking a 7-7 tie in the bottom of the 8th inning to claim their fifth straight title.
In section 5A, Hinckley-Finlayson took down Sebeka 11-6 to punch their first ticket to state since 2018.
