Superior softball heading to State Championship for first time in school history
The No. 2 Superior softball team topped No. 6 Sun Prairie East in the WIAA Division I state softball semifinals 6-3 on Friday in Madison, Wisconsin.
With the win the Spartans stay undefeated with an overall record of 27-0.
The game was scoreless going into the third inning before Melania Luostari sent home Avery Visger for the game’s first run. Spartans had the bases loaded in the fourth inning when Paige Johnson sent another runner home to put Superior up 2-0.
Superior will now advance to their program’s first-ever state championship game Saturday.
They’ll face the winner of Kaukauna versus Oak Creek at 6:30 p.m. at Goodman Diamond in Madison. For the schedule, Click Here.
