Vehicle submerged in Lake Superior off of Rice’s Point

Duluth Police responded to a water emergency that occurred on Helberg Drive, located on Rice’s Point. Upon arrival Officers located a vehicle completely submerged in the water.

The sole occupant was able to make it was on shore when authorities arrived.

There were no injuries related to the incident, the occupant was taken to the hospital though as a precautionary measure.

The incident remains a active and ongoing investigation.
