Duluth winter village is back after last year’s event was put on hiatus.
Open Saturday December 4th and Sunday December 5th 10:00am to 5:00pm local vendors gather together for the Christmas event for people to come check out. And with 40 plus local businesses back together the excitement was in the air.
“It is fun and when you’re walking around and it’s like a reunion, all these people tend to know each other” Says DECC Communications Director Lucie Amundsen.
This was the first time was that the event was hosted at the DECC. Located right on Harbor drive, an area the city plans to use for even more events.
Amundsen says, “This is a really great way to showcase Harbor Drive and how it’s going to connect Bentleyville with the village onto Canal Park and downtown to really get more of Duluth being Duluth’s Christmas city of the Northland."
And with hundreds of people checking out all the different vendors, business was booming. Duluth Pack Store Manager Amanda Kolb says, "We are seeing a lot of people coming out and shopping local. And this little Winter Village is a fun way to get out and support local and kind of have an interesting experience."
With the new site the vendors are reaping the benefits not only for now, but for the future too. Kolb says, "I think the old location was great but here there is definitely a lot more space where we can expand. So definitely a lot more opportunity to grow which is exciting."
Generating more revenue for them and more excitement for the costumers.
