Justin Liles: Grandma’s Marathon Eve

We’ve made it. It’s the end of the week and eve of the Northlands most famous race. As people flock into the Twin Ports this weekend out weather is going to be nearly perfect for runners and spectators. If you’re not participating in Grandma’s festivities by running, watching, volunteering, or just playing around, the weather will be nice for everyone.
The Land of the Look Festival is going on in Virginia and the food is just as legend as its people. Winds will be light and off the lake which will make running conditions for all Grandma’s races cool. There is no rain in the picture until late Saturday night into Sunday. Father’s Day is looking wet during the PM hours. It won’t be a lot of rain but at this point any rain is good rain. Just remember there are a number of burning restrictions around the region this weekend due to our dry environment. Major heat returns next week. Many of us will see 80s and 90s.
