As an upper-level disturbance begins to move through this evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms are popping up in the northern half of our viewing area. Some of these will produce some stronger downpours, small hail, and gusty winds. We are not looking at anything looking to become severe this evening.
Late Wednesday afternoon looks to be a better chance at getting some stronger storms. There is a marginal risk for some larger hail and damaging winds south of the Twin Ports in east central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin. Rain will likely continue through Thursday and into Friday morning. With the rain and winds off the lake it looks like foggy conditions will stick around through the end of the week too. Most of region is likely going to see .5” to 1.5”. This will help our current dry stretch as most of the region continues to be 1.5” below normal.
High pressure along with drier conditions return for the holiday weekend. Temperatures will likely warm into the 80s this weekend with lots of sunshine. Some rain showers and possibly some storms looks to return late Monday night and Independence Day.
