Managing the BWCAW could include a more collaborative process.
That’s the direction the Superior National Forest is moving, after a situational assessment.
100 people representing 66 distinct groups weighed in on what they see as challenges and opportunities when it comes to experiences in the BWCA.
There are also recommendations from the National Center for Environmental Conflict Resolution.
All of this is included in a 39 page Situational Assessment Report.
A new report about the BWCA includes recommendations about collaboration when it comes to forest management.
Tom Hall, Forest Supervisor for the Superior National Forest, said they are already engaging around the recommendations.
