Esko football stars host final day of Elite Football Camp

Friday afternoon young athletes at Esko School Fields battled the heat to enjoy the final day of the Esko Elite Football Camp.
Kids from K-8th grade enjoyed five days of instruction from Esko greats themselves including St. John’s sophomore defensive lineman Cole Engen, Minnesota State University-Mankato commit Mason Perich, and future Minnesota Gopher Koi Perich.
“When we were little kids there was stuff here and there, but there was no concrete youth football camp that they ever had. That kind of sparked our idea to get something going here in town,” Engen said.
Koi Perich explained what the camp is focused on.
“Kindergartners, obviously, we’re trying to get more games in with them. Eighth graders we do a more of a dynamic, more of skill position groups and just working out, working out with them.”

“There’s studs everywhere,” Mason Perich added. “Future is bright. We’ve had a couple of successful last football seasons, so I think it’ll keep going.”
The trio said the camp will return next june. It’s five days of 1.5 hour sessions for $75.
