St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office investigating officer impersonation phone call

The St. Louis Co. Sheriff’s Office is investigating a scamming compliant that occurred in Clinton Township Saturday

According to authorities, an individual called to report she was contacted by someone who claimed to be St. Louis Co Deputy Sheriff’s. The suspect used the names of active and former members of the SLCSO. 

During the call, the suspect told the individual they had missed a court date and needed to meet up to sign a document. 

This is not a common practice of the SLCSO and members of the public should not meet anyone claiming to be law enforcement who need documents signed.
