The 17th annual Bayfront Reggae and World Music Festival was held on Saturday July 15 and it featured artists celebrating cultural equality through reggae and world music.
The 2023 show held in the beautiful city of Duluth, Minnesota was headlined by Jamaican dancehall and reggae artists Konshens and Luciano, Afrobeats artist Stonebwoy from Ghana, Alison Hinds — the Soca queen from Barbados, Minnesota’s own Dred I Dread, Rootz Within, and Trinidadian DJ Sound of Fujun.
This year’s show was attended by folks from all over Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, the Dakotas and even Canada.
The event organizers say they intend to provide cultural entertainment through reggae and world music artists who spread the message of love, hope and equality for all people worldwide. The festival supports the Jamaica Minnesota Organization and Kako Foundation to help with the education of students in both Jamaica and Haiti.
