Lightning strike starts barn on fire in Carlton County, no animals injured
Fire crews responded to a barn on fire in Carlton County on Wednesday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office said in a statement that dispatch received a call that lightning started the blaze. This was at 2282 Olson Road in Blackhoof Township.
Firefighters from the Blackhoof, Esko, Carlton, Barnum, Moose Lake, Mahtowa, and Wrenshall Fire
Departments responded and found a barn fully involved in fire.
Due to the size of the fire and rural location a large amount of water had to be brought in.
According to the sheriff’s office, there were no animals in the barn at the time of the fire and no animals were injured. There were no injuries, and no other structures were damaged as a result of the fire.
The barn is a complete loss.
