Brandon Weatherz: Hot through tomorrow with more storms to track

The heat will continue today and tomorrow, then temps take a hit on Friday with a cold front sweeping in from the north and a breezy east wind kicking in. The next few days will also feature a couple opportunities for rain. Our Wednesday begins with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms that exit east across the Arrowhead and northwest Wisconsin through the morning. The rest of the day will then be dry with sunny skies. Highs return to 80s and 90s. A light lake breezy will allow the Twin Ports to see a similar spread in temps that we saw yesterday with 87 at the Duluth International Airport and a high closer to 70 immediately by the lake.
We look to North Dakota this evening for potentially severe storms that may reach as far east as International Falls. Showers and storms become widespread overnight and gradually taper off Thursday morning. Additional storms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening, and we look south of Lake Superior for an isolated storm that may produce 1” hail and 60 mph winds. By Friday, a low chance for showers and thunderstorms lingers behind the cold front with severe potential staying south of the Northland.

Yesterday's heat repeats today and tomorrow before relief arrives Friday. Storms taper off this morning and return tonight.
