Wisconsin residents cleaning up from severe thunderstorm

Yesterday’s thunderstorms of lightning, hail and possible tornadoes stirred up fear for many people in the Northland. Wisconsin residents cleaning up from the storm found golf-ball sized hail, fallen trees, and other debris.
Wisconsin residents cleaning up in Seeley said there weren’t too many damages, but there were concerns from people visiting the town. Tristan Kemp was visiting from England, when he captured footage of a Seeley resident’s shingles flying off from the storm.
“I think we just got it like the wild winds, you guys call it, you could see just the spray going absolutely nuts. And we were worried because we’re next to some old barn.” Kemp said. “We don’t get this weather in the UK.”
Anita Sturgis was having a family vacation, for a Christmas in July celebration. But when the thunderstorm hit they were nowhere near their camper and had to take shelter in a nearby bar.
“Before we left the car, there was little like pea-size hail came down for a short period of time. Sawyer County was going to be affected till like 9PM. So we stayed in there until it totally subsided. It was like about a three hour period of time. We just stayed put,” Sturgis said.
From hail, to lightning, to potential tornadoes, residents throughout Northwest Wisconsin are cleaning up from the severe thunderstorm last night.
Residents in the Seeley area said they were also preparing for any possible chances of flooding in their basements from the storm too.
“I just thank God that everything was okay and it wasn’t as bad as that we anticipated it was going to be. when you’re in a park model or in a camper or something in your vehicle, you don’t really have that available.”
