In Tuesday’s primary election, Duluth voters narrowed down the candidates for Duluth City Council District 4 race. Of the five running, two will advance to the general election in November.
The polls closed at eight, and the unofficial tally shows that Tara Swenson and Howie Hanson have been chosen by voters to move on to the November 7 election.
Tara Swenson, 34, resides in Piedmont and works in human resources. She has a bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud University and has done public service through FUSE Leadership Duluth with Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce and the Duluth Charter Commission.
Howie Hanson, 68, is semi-retired. Hanson has a Bachelor of Science in communications from UWS and a master’s degree from the College of St. Scholastica’s Leadership and Change program.
