There’s a new addition to the social media landscape. According to the Wall Street Journal, Meta is starting a web version of Threads this week, something users have been calling for since the app launched last month. Use of Threads has dropped in recent weeks.
A glitch on “X” has cost users some of their photos. Pictures posted between 2011 and 2014 to the site formerly known as Twitter appear to have vanished. No comments so far from X’s front office. Reports say the problem could be related to a technical change made in 2016.
Finally, a federal judge has ruled that art generated by artificial intelligence cannot be copyrighted.
A computer scientist sued the U.S. copyright office after it refused to his attempts to copyright an AI image. The judge said human authorship is the bedrock of copyright law.
