MnDOT drainage repairs could affect commuters starting next week

In a recent press release, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has announced the beginning of an infrastructure repair project on I-35 in Duluth. Starting on September 5, the department will be focusing its efforts on addressing drainage structure issues along a stretch of the highway, with the aim of improving safety and the overall driving experience.

The repair work is slated to unfold between 5th Avenue West and 26th Avenue East, starting on the northbound outside lane and shoulder. Motorists are advised to brace for lane and shoulder closures throughout the weekdays, from Monday to Friday. As the project evolves, the focus will shift to the inside northbound lanes, as well as the southbound inside and outside lanes. MnDOT assures the public that all measures will be taken to minimize disruptions and complete the endeavor efficiently.

Project leaders estimate that the repair work will be completed on October 22. Travelers and residents alike are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, anticipating potential delays and changes in traffic patterns as the repair project unfolds.
