Mike Letica has been collecting school supplies for his annual KIDS Backpack Drive. KIDS stands for Keep Investing in Duluth Schools.
And he’s got about 400 of them. The plan is to give them away at his Farmers Insurance office on Grand Avenue, from 10am-12pm on Monday.
“I always envision, like, what if it was one of my kids or what if it was me? What if there’s a kid who maybe doesn’t have that stuff. You know, that’s a that’s a bullying situation there because the kids are going to kind of teased them about that kind of stuff. I just want everybody to have the exact same opportunities that the others have, regardless of their financial situation,” Letica added.
Letica will also be bringing backpacks out to several community centers. But he’s monitoring the weather, because he doesn’t want go have kids waiting out in the heat. Keep an eye on his Facebook page.
