ATV accident involving two juveniles
At around 3:54 pm Saturday, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an ATV accident with injuries. Local 1st Responders from the Cook area responded, as well as the Cook and Virginia ambulance services.
The incident occurred on Randa Road, located on the north side of Lake Vermilion. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, a side-by-side ATV was being driven by a 15 year old. The ATV got too close to the ditch, causing the driver to over-correct the steering. This flipped the ATV onto its side.
Both the driver and the passenger, an 11 year old, were wearing seatbelts. One of the juveniles was taken to the Cook Hospital via air medical with minor, non life-threatening injuries. The other juvenile had minor bruises and was released to their parents at the scene of the accident.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
